We invite you to join us via Zoom for our next Journal Club meeting on Monday, November17th, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

We’re excited to welcome nurse researcher Dr. Miranda Tyo, co-author of Perspective Mapping: Tutorial for Collecting Quantifiable Qualitative Interview Data (JMIR, 2025).

As health care continues to evolve, mixed methods research has become increasingly vital — not only for developing patient-reported outcomes and digital health tools, but also for improving care in areas where complex experiences can’t be fully understood through numbers or narratives alone.

During this informal discussion, Dr. Tyo will share her insights about the application of Perspective Mapping, an innovative online interviewing approach that uses mind-mapping software to capture qualitative insights within a structured, measurable framework.

We will explore how this method helps clinicians and researchers better understand and prioritize what matters most to patients — and how nurse practitioners can apply it to support shared decision-making, deepen understanding of patient experiences, and strengthen outcome measurement.
