Position Description

Baystate Health, Western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Medical School – Baystate, is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Level 3 Neonatal ICU (55 beds) at Baystate Children’s Hospital.

 

Position Highlights

  • Join our team of 10 NICU NNPs and PAs and 7 neonatologists in the region’s only Level III NICU at Baystate Children’s Hospital in Springfield MA.
  • We utilize advanced modes of respiratory support including bubble CPAP, NIMV, CMV, HFOV, HFJV, and inhaled nitric oxide.
  • Our subspecialists include pediatric surgery, infectious disease, genetics, endocrinology, cardiology, pulmonology, and ophthalmology. Other subspecialists are available as needed. Our care team includes respiratory therapists, dietician, pharmacist, occupational therapist, social work, and case management/discharge planner.
  • This is a highly collaborative environment where top-notch evidence-based care is provided to infants and families.
  • You will manage daily care of high-risk infants in our NICU and Continuing Care Nursery, attend deliveries, and participate in transports of ill infants to and from Baystate Medical Center.
  • You can be engaged in clinical and QI research, as well as involved in the medical education of resident physicians, medical students and APP students.
  • Our very experienced and supportive team of neonatologists and APPs can provide excellent mentoring to someone early in their NICU career.
  • Shifts are 12 or 24 hour shifts with rotating days/nights/weekends split evenly across the team.

Qualifications: Board Certified Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants with experience in a level III NICU. A strong commitment to collaboration, quality and lifelong learning is essential.
