Massachusetts Senate Passes S. 2769

Posted on 6/29/2020 in State Legislative News

Thank you to the 468 MCNP members and supporters who responded to our call to action and sent emails to their state senators.

We are pleased to report that on Thursday 6/25/2020, the Massachusetts Senate passed,S. 2769,An Act to Put Patients First.

We are encouraged by the Senate's leadership and recognition that now is the time to permanently remove practice restrictions for MA Nurse Practitioners.

The bill will now move on to the House who will decide whether or not to take up the bill.

We anticipate that the House will be releasing its own health care bill in the coming weeks, and we believe the legislature remains committed to passing health care legislation this session. We will be in touch soon to coordinate outreach to the House of Representatives.

While COVID-19 has impacted the legislative landscape, it has not dampened our resolve to pass Full Practice legislation so that our patients can have unrestricted access to NP care.

We will keep you informed of any developments and let you know when your action is next needed.

Thank you for your continued engagement and support!
