Call for Nominations for Open Officer Positions

Posted on 3/11/2020 in MCNP News

The offices of Vice-PresidentRecording Secretary and President-Elect are on the election ballot for this year. Voting will take place on Thursday afternoon April 30, 2020 during the annual business meeting held at the New England Regional Nurse Practitioner Conference at the Boston Marriott in Newton.

Officers are voting members of the Executive Committee and help define MCNP business decisions, legislative activities and organizational direction. Officer responsibilities include participating in conference calls and executive committee meetings which are typically no more than once per month, helping lead MCNP initiatives and attending MCNP leadership and legislative events.

Additionally, the role of the Vice-President is to assist and support the President. The Recording Secretary takes minutes at every meeting and is responsible for distributing them. The President-Elect works closely with the current President for one year prior to becoming a nominee for the office of MCNP President. The President-Elect must be an active member of MCNP, be able to attend regularly scheduled meetings and be able to donate a significant amount of time to the organization.

While the demands of all officer positions are considerable, they provide a great opportunity for professional leadership growth and involvement in non-profit work, health policy and the legislative process.
