8:00am - 4:00pm

As part of our commitment to empowering Nurse Practitioners to lead the fight against the Opioid Epidemic in Massachusetts, the MCNP has partnered with Boston Medical Center to offer an 8-hour Buprenorphine Waiver Training as part of our Pre-Conference Workshops at the 2019 New England Regional NP Conference being held May 1-2, 2019 at the Boston Marriott Newton.

The complete eight-hour course prepares NPs, CNM, CNS, and CRNAs to prescribe buprenorphine to treat opioid use disorder. The curriculum includes the science of addiction as a brain disorder, the pharmacology of buprenorphine, and the regulatory requirements around prescribing this medication.

Attendees will learn to screen patients for treatment with buprenorphine and to manage the medication along with the patient's other medical needs in an office setting such as a primary care clinic.

The course fulfills 8 hours of the required 24 hours of training needed for Nurse Practitioners to be eligible for a waiver.

CME credit will be available and Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.

Registration is through the Boston Medical Center OBAT TTA program with a $35 Fee to cover food costs.
