Update from the MA Drug Control Program on Independent Practice Attestation

The following information is being posted on behalf of the Drug Control Program which regulates MCSRs:

The MCSR database has been updated and now APRN's (CNPs, CRNAs and PCNSs):

• can attest that they are eligible for independent practice online when they apply or renew.
• can also update their MCSR anytime, in case they decide they want independent practice when eligible.
• There is no need for a paper application, but is still an option, if the APRN wishes to use mail to send it in.

Certified nurse midwives do not need to complete an attestation to be eligible for independent practice.

Also note the MCSR  online verification site will show whether someone has independent practice, and the wallet cards will be printed with "independent practice."
