Dear Colleague,

As we kick-off 2023 National Nurse Practitioner Week, I am inspired by the amazing work of our Nurse Practitioner colleagues and their dedication to providing exceptional patient care, advancing the NP profession, and transforming the healthcare landscape. Across every practice specialty and health care setting, Massachusetts NPs are increasing access and providing high-quality, cost-effective care to more and more patients.

I am equally inspired by my fellow members of the MCNP Board of Directors whose volunteer efforts have helped advance the mission of the organization. I encourage you to view our NP Week video below so you can hear directly from these outstanding Nurse Practitioner leaders.

Following the passage of Full Practice Authority (FPA) legislation in 2021, MCNP remains committed to removing existing barriers to NP practice and responding to threats to impose new restrictions and impede the progress of FPA. Our goal is to represent you and every Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts by providing high level professional support and advocacy.

In spite of our growth as an organization and profession, less than 10% of the licensed Nurse Practitioners in Massachusetts are current MCNP members. Imagine what we could accomplish together if we could harness the power of the more than 15,000 currently licensed NPs in the state!

I ask you to think about this power, reflect on what your practice is worth to you and support our efforts by becoming an active dues-paying MCNP member.

MCNP will be celebrating NP Week by highlighting the work of several exceptional Nurse Practitioners in our NP Week Member Spotlight Series. We have also planned a full calendar of regional dinner programs, special member raffles, and MCNP membership discounts. For those who might be considering an NP owned practice or business, we are hosting a webinar at 7:30 PM on Wednesday evening, November 15th, with a panel discussion featuring Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneurs.

I want to thank you for the opportunity to represent you as MCNP President and express my gratitude to each of you for all that you do for our patients, communities, and profession.
